A new digital port service
The Maritime Access and Environment service of the Port of Le Havre has been working for almost a year on the development of a digital bathymetric database to replace printed marine charts. w
A prototype is currently being tested. It is designed to enable the real-time cross-referencing of digital data with electronic marine charts edited within the department. The data stored on a shared server will be accessible to Port Authorities and pilotage services, and will be useable on digital tablets to enable more acurate ship movements and channel maintenance works
